Stumbled across another SNL-related article in the NY Times again, this time about the new ladies.

Read here:

I would love to see Abby Elliott do Michael Cera!

Kristen Wiig in the NY Times

The New York Times has a lovely interview and article about Kristen Wiig:

For your reading pleasure.
She comes across as lovely and totally unassuming, which is nice to hear.

Will Ferrell to host in May?

I just read a Q&A with Lorne Michaels, where he was asked about ideal hosts this season, and he said;
"We're always of the moment. Will Ferrell is doing a live show in May. But it doesn't do any good to talk about it [guest bookings] because you never know."

Well, now that would be fun! Especially with the current cast, I think it would be a great show! Let's hope it stays in place!

Happy New Year!

I would like to wish you all (two of you?) a happy new year.

I know this is a pretty lame blog, but I love SNL, and I hope it has been informative, and fun to read, etc.

Best in '09!

If any of you saw Pineapple Express, then you'll remember the opeing scene which was set in the 1930's and featured testing of marijuana, and the hilarity that ensued with Bill Hader playing an officer who was high and was repeatedly asked what he thought when he thought of his superiors.

If you didn't see Pineapple Express, then you need to watch the video above. It is one of the highlights of the movie for me, and I thought Bill was awesome in it.

Check it!

The above is the trailer for Night at the Musuem 2. I haven't seen the first one, but from what I've heard it didn't really merit a sequel. But, I posted the trailer as SNL's resident voicebox Bill Hader appears in it as General Custer. The film also stars Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson and Amy Adams.

The trailer actually looks decent, and it's got a good cast, so at least it might be amusing, right?

That above is the trailer for I Love You, Man which features SNL's very own Andy Samberg. It is written and directed by John Hamburg, who had a hand in writing good comedies like Zoolander and Meet The Parents, and duds like Meet the Fockers and Along Came Polly.

Enjoy the trailer!

Palin/Clinton Open Voted One of The Funniest Moments of the Year

The cold open of the Michael Phelps episode earlier this season has been voted as one of the funniest moments of 2008 by the Chicago Tribune.

From the Chicago Tribune:
Sarah, plain and scary: The opening shot of "Saturday Night Live's" season premiere showed Amy Poehler, as Hillary Clinton, and what appeared to be the real Sarah Palin. Except it wasn't—it was Tina Fey, whose scary-close physical resemblance and Alaska-by-way-of-Minnesota accent proved to be the political impression of the decade. Money line: "I can see Russia from my house!"

If You're In The Miami Area..

• Be one of the first 100 people to mention Miami.com and get $20 admission to Provocateur, a new night spot in Miami Beach. There will be a free champagne toast at midnight, rap by Fabolous and some celebs in the house (Kenan Thompson of 'SNL' and 'America's Next Top Model' winner Jaslene Gonzalez). Regular admission is $50. 323 23rd St., Miami Beach.

If you happen to be in the Miami area, and you have absolutely nowhere to go tonight, then maybe you could go to Provocateur (sounds saucy) and ring in the new year with Kenan Thompson and Jaslene. Or you know, you could make other plans tonight.

Bill Hader spotted!

I know, who cares, but just for all of you Bill Hader stalkers out there:

SNL After-Party Venue To Close

The SNL after-party hangout, The Cutting Room, is set to close next month.
The venue, which is owned by Sex and the City star Chris Noth, is closing due to escalating rent prices, after the landlord more than doubled the rent.

So looks like the SNL crew will have to find a new place to sing karaoke and hang out with Blake Lively.

Amy Poehler has dinner with Seth Meyers, *gasp*

According to People magazine, Amy Poehler was spotted having dinner with Weekend Update co-anchor Seth Meyers. I quote :
New mom Amy Poehler, stepping out for dinner at Cafe Cluny in Manhattan's West Village with her former Weekend Update co-anchor, Seth Meyers. Poehler, whose son Archie was born Oct. 25, looked like she was enjoying herself. "She's so tiny!" an onlooker tells us. "So cute."

That's so lovely that they're staying in touch, no?
